Hydra Corporation is a general contractor and land developer based in Wauconda, Illinois. Founded by Fred Holtgren in 1974, Hydra Corp. has completed numerous ground-up projects in Northwest Chicagoland, including Wauconda, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Mundelein, Crystal Lake, Richmond, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Wheeling, and McHenry.

From concept to completion, we handle every aspect of the construction process, from hiring architects and engineers to obtaining building permits, scheduling every trade involved in the job, and overseeing the day-to-day operations on the jobsite. We usually start this process by sitting down with our clients and learning about what their building needs are. We value timeliness, direct communication, and the partnership that forms when business owners use our company to plan their next expansion.

While we have more new building experience than most other general contractors in our area combined, we also pride ourselves in our ability to transform and renovate existing offices, warehouses, and factories to meet our client’s needs. In addition to our 1.7 million square foot building portfolio, we have also renovated hundreds of thousands of square feet of warehouse, factory, and office space.
